Overview

The BiPRO-502 Contract Single Query MCP server exposes a standardised tool that wraps the BiPRO norm 502.x REST interface, enabling AI agents to retrieve individual contract records from any compliant insurer backend without custom integration work.

How it works

The server acts as a protocol bridge: it accepts a natural-language or structured tool call from an MCP-compatible agent (e.g. Claude, GPT-4o), translates the request into a BiPRO 502.x-compliant SOAP/REST call, and returns a normalised JSON response the agent can reason over.

Use cases

  • Policy lookup — retrieve full contract details by policy number or customer ID
  • Coverage verification — confirm active coverages for claims intake
  • Agent copilots — power insurance advisor tools that need live contract data

Prerequisites

  • A BiPRO 502.x-compliant backend endpoint (insurer or intermediary)
  • Valid BiPRO credentials (username / password or OAuth2 client credentials)
  • Node.js ≥ 18 or Docker

Configuration

Set the following environment variables before starting the server:

BIPRO_ENDPOINT=https://your-insurer.example/bipro/v502

BIPRO_USERNAME=your-username

BIPRO_PASSWORD=your-password
